A new patient experience is going to be different in our office then, perhaps, you’ve experienced in the past. We spend an hour and a half to two hours the first time we meet you. We’re interested in knowing your story.
Well, first off, we want to get to know you a little bit. You got a family? Have you got? What’s happening in your life that you would like to share with us that you think’s important?
Then, we are interested in what your dental story is up to this point—up to the point you’ve come into our office. What’s happened with you and your health?
Then, where do you think you are in terms of your dental health? Most patients are very cognizant of or at least aware of at some level of what’s going on in their mouth, but most are also not aware of other things that are going on in their mouth.
Some of them will say, “Oh, nothing hurts.“ That doesn’t mean nothing’s going on, it just means it doesn’t hurt yet and so after having—being able to get to know what’s happened to you in your dental story up until now and where you are now, where you think you are, then we want to sit down and, perhaps, together look at your mouth and find out what’s happened with every single tooth. Every little detail we want to uncover and we want you to be aware of that and we want to know what your mouth—what you want you mouth to be like say, 10 or 15 years from now.
After doing that, you’re able to determine where you want to go. Until you have an end in mind, how can you just make decisions about what you would like to do today to make sure that you reach that goal 10 or 15 years down the road? That may be a healthy mouth, it may be a comfortable mouth, it may be that you don’t have dentures—you don’t have losing teeth. It may be that you want to get your smile back because things have happened in such a way that now your teeth don’t look so good and you want some changes there.
We have these conversations with a new patient right off the bat to determine where they are, where are they today, and where would they like to go, and then we can sit down and make some options available to you, and you can choose what level of care you’d like to have.
Our patients appreciate this individualized approach! Check out some of their testimonials, and see some of their enhanced smiles in our smile gallery. If you’re concerned about how you’ll pay for our services, you can choose from multiple payment options. You can even save time by downloading and filling out new patient forms before your initial appointment.
