The most wonderful thing that I’ve realized over the last 10 years is the materials that we have today can absolutely make veneers make your teeth look absolutely normal, natural. They don’t look like veneers. It’s disappointing to some people that people aren’t running over and saying, “Your veneers look wonderful,“ when in reality, most patients don’t get that. What I do know is that from what I experience with veneers is that the veneers look so natural because they look like they belong in my face, and the shades are so nice that they look very, very much like real teeth. They are real teeth, they’ve just been covered over with something that looks more pleasing than what your teeth were in the beginning.
The other thing that I’m just totally blown away by is the materials we use today in that the gum tissues don’t recede with these materials. I’ve got patients who’ve had them in there for 10, 15 years, and the gums are as healthy and beautiful as they were the day we put them in, which you don’t see that with some of the older materials. It really makes a person who is smiling like this, now they’re smiling big because they’re not self-conscious about what their teeth look like.
I can tell you that I have personal experience with that with my wife. I’d say, “Would you like me to fix those teeth for you?“ She’d say, “No,“ because she doesn’t like going to the dentist. I say, “I’m your sweetheart. I’ll take good care of you.“ For many years, she said, “No.“ We had one of our kids get married and she had one of her granddaughters in her lap, and we took a picture of her smiling with her granddaughter. Of course, grandmas smile big with their granddaughters in their laps. We got the picture back and we were sitting to look at them. She said to me, “Do my teeth look like that?“ I said, “Yes, they do.“ She says, “Would you do some veneers for me?“
Everybody’s story is a little different, but for my wife, she didn’t realize that they didn’t look very nice. To be able to do that for your wife, I mean, it’s special for a patient, but to be able to do that for your wife where now she’s able to smile bigger and be confident and not have her grandchildren say, “Grandma, why are your teeth so yellow,“ that was a big one—that was a big one.

Get a Great Smile in Just a Few Visits
Dental veneers are sometimes called “instant orthodontics” because they make such a big smile impact in such a short time. With e-max veneers, it typically takes just two appointments after an initial consultation to get your gorgeous new grin. Compared to some other types of veneers, Dr. Workman has to remove only a tiny portion of enamel to prepare your teeth for e.max veneers. There is minimal discomfort; most patients don’t even need anesthesia. You’ll return for a follow-up visit to make sure they look and feel fantastic!
