When you walk into our office, I’ve been told many times, both with dentists who’ve come to visit and patients themselves, is the colors and then surrounding make them feel calm. The music we play, the feeling you get from the staff, most people would say I really love coming here because it’s a comfortable, calm feeling when they’re there. Years ago, I practiced in a practice that had the Grateful Dead playing all day long and by the time I got home, I felt like I was beat up. It really drove home the importance of all the little details to help people feel comfortable. Part of that is we never make people feel rushed. We’re not trying to run around and see as many patients as possible, and I think that adds to the ambience of the office.
When we’re in front of you and we’re talking to you, we talk to you and you’re our focus. That says a lot about the environment of the office too, although it’s more of a personal thing. I have some staff members who over the years I’ve been lucky that a few of them have stayed with me and have that same feeling of they make you feel comfortable, and they care about you. I’m just really lucky to have those kind of loyal employees that have been so good with our patients and make it a good place to go and practice and see people.
