Q: Is a dental implant a good solution for me?
For most people missing a tooth, a dental implant is an excellent solution. However, it is not for every patient. Some patients would do much better with a dental bridge or a partial denture. The only way to know for sure is to come into the office to be evaluated. We will look at the state of your jaw bone, the strength of your surrounding teeth, and your overall health. Call our office today to learn more about our dental implant process.
Q: Can I get dental sedation?
Yes! We offer both oral conscious sedation and IV sedation. Dr. Workman can help you determine which method of sedation is best for you. He’ll consider your medical history, any past experience with sedation, and the length of your procedure, among other factors. No matter which form of sedation you choose, you’ll be monitored throughout your procedure.
Q: What are my tooth replacement options?
You have many tooth replacement options at our Glen Ellyn, IL dental practice, including dental implants and dentures. You can choose either traditional dentures or dentures attached to dental implants. Dr. Workman can also attach a dental crown to an implant to replace a single tooth or use a dental bridge to replace multiple teeth. Thanks to his expertise with dental implants, Dr. Workman can perform innovative procedures such as Teeth in a Day®, which enables you to get your implants and replacement teeth all in the same day.
Q: Can you help me stop grinding my teeth at night?
Yes! Dr. Workman can create a custom oral appliance that will prevent you from grinding your teeth while you sleep. This will not only keep you from damaging your teeth, but it may also help relieve symptoms of TMJ disorder, a condition characterized by jaw pain and chronic headaches. For more serious cases of teeth grinding, he may recommend occlusal equilibration, a treatment in which he’ll reshape your teeth to create a better-aligned bite and ensure healthy contact between upper and lower teeth.
