Hand-Sculptured Restorations

Artistic Dental Bonding is a cosmetic dental technique that Dr. Workman uses to improve the appearance of your teeth. The term “composite” refers to a natural tooth-colored blend of materials, either plastic or resin, which is affixed to an existing tooth.

Bonding is perfect for restoring chipped or cracked teeth, hiding staining on the tooth’s surface, or closing the gaps between front teeth. Whatever the specific intent, composite bonding creates more cosmetically pleasing teeth and a brighter smile.

Unlike veneers or crowns, composite bonding requires little grinding down of the original tooth. Tooth-colored fillings (bonding) can also effectively address cavities without having to grind away large amounts of the existing tooth structure. Not only do you not have those ugly metal fillings, you also have a tooth that is restored more effectively

The thin coating of plastic material lasts for up to 10 years and will produce one or all of the following results:

  • Repair decayed teeth
  • Repair chipped or cracked teeth
  • Lighten discolored teeth
  • Close gaps between teeth
  • Change a tooth’s length or shape
  • Protect the tooth’s root if shrinking gums have exposed it
